Biography
Born in Mexico City, Roberto Sneider is a graduate of Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and of the Directing Program at The American Film Institute. In 1994, he wrote, produced, and directed his first feature film, "Dos crímenes." This film was released in 1995 and became the most successful Mexican film of the year. It also obtained more than 15 international awards and three Mexican Academy awards. Between 1996 and 2001, he also produced "Frida," which received 6 Academy Award nominations, winning two of them. In addition to being the Founder and President of La Banda, Roberto has directed many TV commercials and earned a number of awards, including Best of Show at the New York Festivals for the PSA titled "Dad", and the AICP Show for "Reality", which is now part of the permanent collection at the MoMA in New York. He wrote, directed, and produced the Mexican blockbuster "Arráncame la vida," for which he garnered numerous international awards and was shortlisted for the 2008 Academy Awards to represent Mexico. His latest feature, "You're killing me Susana," starring Gael García Bernal, premiered in 2017. He is a director on Club de Cuervos (Netflix) and on Shameless (Warner Brothers/Showtime).
