Biography

Nicolas Caicoya, a native of northern Spain, moved to Madrid when very young. He attended Communications school and acquired much of his experience in film while working as second unit director on numerous productions with different international directors. He speaks French, Spanish, Catalan, Italian and English, and currently resides in Barcelona. Nicolas' unique visual style has earned him collaborations worldwide with elite global clients. Many of Nico's spots have won awards in both international and national film festivals such as; Atlético Madrid's "Associate No.1," winner of Bronze Lion in Cannes, SOL San Sebastian, La Publicidad del Museo, and APPE, in 2005; Atlético de Madrid's "Letter Home," winner of the Bronze Lion in Cannes, SOL San Sebastian, La Publicidad del Museo, and APPE, in 2006; and Ikea's "Don't Play in the Living Room," winner in 2008 at SOL San Sebastian, La Publicidad del Museo, and APPE. Nico's recent work includes his first short film, Hyena's Blood, and numerous spots for European, Latin-American, and US markets.
